South African Mathematics Foundation Hosts SAMF Kangaroo Competition 2024
The South African Mathematics Foundation (SAMF) is proud to announce the hosting of the SAMF Kangaroo Competition 2024, the world’s largest mathematics competition. Taking place from April 22 to August 23, 2024, South African learners have the opportunity to participate in this prestigious event free of charge.
The competition features different levels of participation based on grade categories:
– Grade 3: Siembamba
– Grades 4-5: Nala
– Grades 6-7: Ukubala
– Grades 8-9: Madiba
– Grades 10-11: Springbok
– Grade 12: Protea
The Kangaroo Competition is renowned for its engaging multiple-choice questions, designed to be fun and playful, requiring less reliance on the traditional mathematics syllabus. This approach aims to encourage learners to think creatively and critically about mathematical concepts.
