GEC+ Africa 2024 Entrepreneurship Regional Pitching Competition Offers a $50,000 Prize
The GEC+ Africa 2024 Entrepreneurship Regional Pitching Competition is currently open for applications, offering startups and SMMEs from across the African continent the opportunity to showcase their businesses. This competition aims to highlight Africa’s innovative startups and SMMEs while also strengthening each country’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Successful applicants will be invited to participate in a boot camp to prepare for the pitching competitions happening in their respective countries. A total of 10 winners will be selected from the road shows to travel to Cape Town, South Africa, for the GEC+ Cape Town event. The final pitch will be in front of investors and Entrepreneur Support Organizations from all over the continent.
**Benefits:**
The top 3 winners will share a prize of $50,000 and will have the chance to join an accelerator program post the congress.
**Eligibility:**
– Open to tech startups at the pre-seed or seed stage with at least a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and non-tech startups SMMEs that are post-revenue.
– Startups must be operating in Africa.
**Selection Criteria:**
Applicants will be assessed based on the following criteria:
– Problem Statement: Clear identification of the problem and target market.
– Value Proposition: Unique solution with a competitive advantage.
– Business Case: Viable and sustainable business model.
– Team Composition: Skilled and capable team.
